Today we uploaded a new game on the appstore and google play! We have showed the game before in a video(the first game in the video below), although that was the alpha version. We call it Electrolights. Will be out on tablets some time next week(both android and IOS). The game is a classic “lightbike” game that is inspired by the TRON movies (and games) I am sure you are familiar with.

The release will feature 2 game modes. With a basic game mode that you can see on the video and a “MEGA”-mode that features pickups, zones and warps to make your every move be of utmost importance! We will ofcource tell you guys when its out, like us on facebook to be sure not to miss it.

We have also updated Fight of the Valkyries again. This time its a minor update with some bugfixes and performance enhancements so now its ultra stable and smooth on all supported devices. We will also try to push the game to get some reviews and such, but so far you guys seem to like it! Next update will feature SINGLEPLAYER and COOP gameplay! OMG! And also we are pleased to say that we will also support smartphones!

Will post again next week when Electrolights is out!

Fight of the Valkyries!

By i4sense at 5:55 pm 08 March 2013

Is it a bird? Is it superman? is it an airplane? … yes it’s an airplane!

Sorry for lack of updates here recently but we have been hard at work at various projects. And also as of today we have launched a new game on the appstore called Fight of the Valkyries! Just waiting for the apple people to validate the game and then you can download it. It will cost a mere 0.99 dollars(7 kr or similar) but upon release it will be free for a limited time!

The game is all about action. You control an aircraft fighter of your choosing and then use it to your best knowledge to obliterate your enemies! All presented in an easy to understand 2D concept.

Version 1.0 will be released exclusively on the appstore for ipad but fear not, android market will soon follow. We will release a patch to fully support iphones soon. We have also planned to release it on Xbox 360 and PC.

1.0 will feature head to head combat on a single ipad with 3 different aircrafts to choose from in 2 different game modes. Each aircraft is different(weapons, speed, acceleration, turn speed and so on). The game modes are survival and deathmatch. Deathmatch is the first player to reach 5 kills wins and survival is just as simple as it sounds, last survivor wins.

We have huge plans for this game for example full fledged online multiplayer, more aircrafts, huge battles with many players, team deathmatch, customizable aircrafts and ofcourse achievements.

The game was first developed toward multitouch tables and for those who wants to know more about this please send an email to fov@i4sense.com. That version supports up to 6 players and can be run on pretty much any multitouch screen.

Like our facebook page for Fight of the Valkyries to get all the latest info about the game.

In other news i4sense together with Visual arena attended the the Meg13 fair (http://www.meg.se/). We showed some applications that we have developed. We got a few seconds of fame when SVT filmed our CEO demonstration i4reality(picture below). You can watch the whole thing here. Don’t forget that you can download i4reality on the appstore for free.

Thats all we have for you today. Thanks for reading!

Lightbikes!

We are proud to present Lightbikes!

Sorry about the quality(filmed with an iphone 4s). Very hard to rig it properly, need to fix some real camera thing as we need to film the actual screen so you can see the hands. We will upload a video using fraps next week.

The game is inspired by the movie Tron and there are a few of these games around already, but none as cool as ours! This is running on our multi-touch table in our office and right now supports up to 4 players.

The goal of the game is to trap your opponents and make them crash into a wall, Last man standing wins the game. Each bike(player) creates a wall behind itself. In “Basic” mode this is pretty much it although I must say it could get rather hectic, especially with 4 players involved. Then we have the  ”Mega” mode, this is where it gets really tricky. In “Mega” mode different pickups will appear and drastically change the game, but thats not all. Zones and warps with different effects will spawn, messing up your strategy or maybe save you from utter demise.

Wanna play it?? We are planning to release it on appstore and android market so sit tight!

In other news, our “information”-app that we mentioned last week is ready for its first day in the light. Next week at the ISE-fair(www.iseurope.org) the app, we are calling it i4cubes at the moment, will be up and running showing of dokuments, pictures and videos in a elegant fashion. We will show this app in a video really soon.

We also have done some really cool visualizations of different city districts in Göteborg using i4reality(AR), more on this at a later date. But for now you can check out i4reality for yourself. It is available in the appstore, just search for i4reality(its free!). Be sure to download the AR-tag and print it to get the best experience. Send your thoughts and opinions to i4reality@i4sense.com we really want to hear what you think of it.

This is all for now! Have a great weekend!

First I must mention that the showcase app for i4reality is now available free on appstore(just search for i4reality), so go get it! Be sure to download the AR-tag and print it to get the best experience. Send your thoughts and opinions to i4reality@i4sense.com we really want to hear what you think of it.

Our battleship-game have been put on hold right now but we will keep you updated.

We have a new cool project going on that we want to show you guys very soon. We are developing a highly customizable application for information(documents, videos etc.). The application is mostly developed toward big screens and multiple simultaneous users. We have worked on this for some time and already have a working prototype so we will show this very soon(possibly next week).

We have been working on one of our games a bit and will be showing it off in a video next week. We have already showed this game in another video already but now we have even more features and cool stuff so be sure not to miss that!

Have a great weekend!

The world did not end today and there seems to be no signs of asteroids, aliens or whatever madness the mayans thought would happen.

Christmas eve is only a couple of days away and we would like to thank everyone for a great year. The latest news here at i4sense is that our augmented reality platform, i4reality, is close to its release on the appstore(awaiting review from the apple-people) and as soon as it hits the store we will notify you.

As previously promised here is a video of our AR Battleship game!

A very early build but fully playable with AR and multiplayer. Graphics will be reworked and we will probably add some cool game mode before we release it on the appstore. This project began with the idea of having multiple devices interacting with the same AR enviroment and it resulted in this battleship game. Release is not too far away so sit tight!

This is all for this year!

Merry Christmas and Happy new year! See you 2013 :)

ps. Wanna watch more games? check this video of our other games:

Huge screen with i4sense multi-touch!

By i4sense at 6:03 pm 07 December 2012

Hello again!

The multi-touch installation at Visual Arena Lindholmen was a success! It is possibly the largest screen, 6 x 3 meters, with real multi-touch in europe(kinda hard to know though). As promised we have put up a video of this screen running our own application called Drag N’ Play. The application contains images, videos, slideshows and also a puzzle-game. We have made this application to be resolution independent and on this screens it runs on a 4K resolution.
Thats all for now. Next week we will have an update on our battleship-game with AR and also a demo-video of it.

ps. We have taken down the techdemo for i4reality for those who are wondering what happened. It will soon be released on appstore though so just sit tight. ds.

Games, games and games

By i4sense at 6:12 pm 30 November 2012

Hello everyone!

It has been two weeks and it’s time for another blog entry. Todays topic is games and we have some new cool stuff to show you.

Lately we have developed several games, mostly with multi-touch in mind and for several players. The biggest game-project is a battleship-type game that uses AR and multiplayer through network. We are very exited about this game and will probably release it on Appstore. We don’t want to reveal too much about it but we will probably show a video of this next time.

Below we have a short video showing some other games we are developing so check it out!

The games shown in the video:

  1. Lightcycles(Working title): A Tron inspired game using multi-touch for several players playing on one screen. Outlive other players by avoiding collision with trail lines and the edge of the screen.
  2. The Star(Working title): An endless game with virtually unlimited amount of players. The star is dying and to keep it alive you have to direct blue comets toward it and try to deflect the red comets. When(not if) the star dies, it collapses on itself unleashing a beatiful effect. The star can be reignited with all types of comets, starting a new life-cycle.
  3. Puzzle: Simple 2-player puzzle game. Utilizes multi-touch and highscore.
  4. Memory: Classic memory game. Also has highscore.
  5. 3D Lightcycles(Working title): Also inspired by Tron. Currently a 2-player game with motorcycles that constantly accelerates. Collide with enemy-tail, obstacles or walls and you lose the game. We have thoughts on making this an AR-game where the level is constantly changing itself.

Wanna try them out? Come by our office and play on our nice multi-touch table, we also have cookies. We might release some games on appstore and/or as a tech demo but it’s too early to say.

In other news we have installed multi-touch on a very large screen at Lindholmen Science Park. The size of the screen is 6 x 3 meters(Europe’s largest screen with multi-touch?). We will upload a video of some applications running on the screen next week and will probably write a short blog post about it. To make sure you don’t miss anything like i4sense on Facebook or on twitter.

Introducing i4reality and new blog

By i4sense at 2:17 pm 16 November 2012

This blog will keep you updated on whats going on at i4sense and updates will occur bi-weekly(every other friday starting today). The blog will mostly address our latest projects and experiments, with a high risk of being very technical mumbojumbo but we will try to keep it at a comprehendible level. And every now and then we will share some tech demos for you to try out!

To make sure you don’t miss anything like i4sense on Facebook or on twitter.

i4reality, i4sense’s augmented reality platform

Augmented reality is not really a new thing but due to the fact that almost every person today has a smartphone with a decent camera and processor its soon to be a part of our everyday reality(pun intended). If you don’t know what augmented reality is click here. i4reality is our own platform for augmented reality(AR) where we try to go one step further. Recently we have developed some AR-apps for different clients, Stockholm business region for example, but they have been “fairly” simple. Mostly showing a just 3D model and perhaps some simple animation. Now we think bigger. We have a ‘showcase’-app for i4reality showing off its capabilities and some ideas on whats possible with this technology. Although its hard to demonstrate the full ‘wow’ factor when not seeing it first hand, be sure to check out this short video below.

i4reality showcase-app

Note that this application uses i4reality and is just showcasing its features. The demo application itself, right now acts as en semi-extension of our homepage.

A breakdown of features:

Case side:

  • Dynamic content(images, videos, texts) all downloaded and cached when starting the app.

Guest side:

  • Dynamic content changable in realtime.

Game side:

  • Simple game that uses physics and an on-screen joystick

Aquarium side:

  • Animations and eye-candy

Top side/Map side:

  • Detailed 3D-model of lindholmen

We will soon distribute this tech-demo so if you are interested in trying it out sign up here: i4reality@i4sense.com

We are currently also working on another AR-app that utilizes networking between multiple devices, in this case a multiplayer-game. More on this next time!

ps. Also check out this video previewing i4sense multi-touch technology on a huge screen(6 x 3 meters). ds.
